Why don't they help us to put an end to all forms of animal cruelty? Introduce strong animal protection laws and educate people worldwide about animal abuse. Make the laws tougher, the fines stiffer. Make it a lot harder on people dumping these animals on the side of the road. Animal cruelty, yes you should be punished.

As a taxpayer in Liberty County, I would like to know how it is possible to let someone run for public office when they have a disease like Alzheimer's?

America, I have one question for you: Would you vote for someone who wants to keep us in Iraq for the next 100 years?

The article in Sunday's paper about the LCRD game between Ratcliffe and Smith and the Cosmopolitan Girls was completely biased. I mean, not one mention about any of the Cosmo girls, who played a two-hour game, yet plenty of the Ratcliffe players were mentioned. And the title was negative as well. Instead of Ratcliffe and Smith lose by one, say The Cosmopolitan Girls win by one in a two-hour game. What kind of reporter do you have there anyway?

Way to go you 12 Gators team; I knew you could do it. State champions - good job.

I think that it's unfair that the Liberty County Recreation Department does not acknowledge the midget girls softball team on Long County girls. We are undefeated and beat all the teams in Liberty, but the games are considered practice games. And the Courier printed an article and didn't even acknowledge the Long County teams as having played in Liberty  County. Why let the girls play if you do not acknowledge?

I agree it's time for change but a change of what? Cars? Politics? A change of what? Even the locals are saying it's time for change, but they need to be more explicit - a change for what?

To the American people: A vote for McCain is a vote to put Bush and his failed policies and administration back in the White House for another four years. Think about it.

In order to cut our taxes we need to get rid of these school buses. Make it the parents' responsibility to get these kids to school, not the taxpayers.

With gas prices the way they are, why do two school buses drive over two miles off the regular route, 15 minutes apart, to go to one house when other parents drive to meet the bus?

John Edwards fell from grace when he agreed to back Obama.

All I have to say is, when we attend recreation games, coaches and people around the area are smoking and I thought it was a non-smoking area. We sure don't want our kids subject to second-hand smoke.

If you put food out by your mailbox and someone took the food, they probably needed it. Why are we willing to send the food a thousand miles away but we are not willing to feed your neighbor?

Yes, Sherlock, Azalea Street is in District 5. From General Screven to the railroad tracks, check your maps.

One thing I hate about summer is that when school lets out, you see groups of kids walking around and at least 10 percent of them are up to no good. Crimes are going to start to increase and houses will begin to get broken into because parents are irresponsible and don't know where their kids are and what they are doing, and that drives me crazy. Parents need to be more aware of where their kids are and what they are doing and if they are hanging with kids that are up to no good, they need to keep their kid away from them.
