Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not assure that they are true. And we do not know what motivated the callers.

 

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the Hinesville Post Office, knowing that while you’re standing in the aisle, you’ll get service with a smile all day long. It’s good to know this.

The mayor and city council shouldn’t be traveling to China and spending our money over there when the Chinese are not doing a thing for us and never will. I think it’s quite unfair.

I went to one gas station one day and bought gas for $2.74 and went to another station and bought gas for the same price. At the first place, for $40, I got 11.9 gallons. At the other I got 10.3. That tells me there are problems with the calibration of some of these gas pumps. If they charge us high dollars for gas, they ought to give us what we pay for.

Liberty County has more teachers and administrators, board members qualified to be vice president than Sarah Palin’s qualifications. What is wrong with our country? Her history is not what a vice president should be.

I can’t vote black because I’m black. I have to vote Christian because I am Christ-ian first, black second. I will not vote for a liberal Obama.

The question about the Democratic headquarters here shouldn’t be about cronyism. It should be about need.
