Toddlers up to age 5 are welcome at a free Easter egg hunt Friday morning at Corkan Recreation Area's Cypress Creek.

Toddler Easter Egg Hunt at Corkan

Bring your little toddlers, up to age 5, to a free Corkan Easter Egg Hunt at Cypress Creek at 10 a.m. Friday. Hunt will be over once all eggs are found. Bring your basket and don't be late. For more information, call 912-767-4273.

 

Military Child Fest

Child and Youth Services and Army Community Service will present Kids Fest from noon-4 p.m. April 22 at Youth Services, 304 North Perimeter Road, Hunter, to celebrate Month of the Military Child and to spotlight Child Abuse Awareness Month. The free event will feature bounce houses, games, face painting, dog demonstrations and static tactical vehicle displays.

 

Toddler Earth Day

Toddlers, 5 and younger, are invited to join Corkan staff April 22 in the yearly planting of the Toddler's Earth Day Flower Bed at Cypress Creek. Corkan provides the seedlings, and planting starts at 10 a.m. Have fun and help beautify the Corkan recreation area. Free. For more information, call 912-767-4273.

 

Hunter GC’s scramble

Join Lt. Col. Michael T. Squires in the Hunter Garrison Commander’s Welcome Home 3-17 Scramble on April 25 at Hunter Golf Course. Shotgun start at 9 a.m. The scramble is open to the public. Spouses are welcome. The cost is $35 for non-members and $30 for members. Cost includes green fees, cart, range balls, mulligans, lunch and prizes. Cap off a week of camaraderie, team-building and golf with the Commanding General’s Golf Scramble on April 28 at Hunter Golf Course. Spouses welcome to play. Public invited. Four-person teams begin play at 1 p.m. The cost is $35 for non-members and $30 for members. Cost includes green fees, cart, range balls, mulligans and prizes. BOSS Block Party

Easter Brunch

Celebrate Easter Sunday with a delicious meal with family and friends at Club Stewart. Chef Nino will help make the day special, with a menu that includes Southern breakfast favorites, a carving station and a grand dessert buffet. Service is from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Prices are $17.95 per adult and $7.95 per child. There’s no charge for children 2 and younger. Bass tournament

The second of four catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be 6:30 a.m. April 22 at Pineview Lake on Fort Stewart. Prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prizes awarded after weigh-in at 11 a.m. The fee is $25 for soldiers, retirees and their family members and youth (15 and younger) and $35 for civilians. Spring Carnival

Spring Carnival, with rides, theme nights, costume contests, food and fun is coming to Donovan Field at Fort Stewart May 4-7.

Admission is free (open gate access through Gate 3 on Old Sunbury Road). Public welcome. Ride tickets are $1 each; 18 for $15; 30 for $25; $25 all-you-can-ride bands; Sunday special $20 arm bands. Music, festivities and adult beverages each night (except Sunday) in the Fest Tent.  Hours and themes:

Cinco De Mayo Zumbathon

Four zumba instructors invite everyone to Cinco De Mayo from 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 5 at Newman Fitness Center. The cost is $3 per person. River Adventures

MWR’s Outdoor Recreation has planned a series of water events for the spring and summer. Kayaking trips, at a cost of $20 per person, are scheduled for May 13, June 10 and July 15. Tubing on the Ichetucknee River in Florida, $35 per person, is scheduled June 17. Whitewater rafting in Columbus, $75 per person, is scheduled for July 8.
