United Way is topic at luncheon

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce will host a Progress Through People Luncheon at noon Thursday at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center, 2140 E. Oglethorpe Hwy., Flemington.

The event will be sponsored by Webster University.

The United Way of the Coastal Empire — Liberty County will provide the program. The UWCE-Liberty is a nonprofit that helps fund the Liberty County Manna House, Helen’s Haven, Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts and other programs; in addition to hosting programs such as the Backpack Buddy Program, Read Across Liberty and several mass mobile food drives throughout the year.

"We are excited to hear from the United Way and their volunteers and board members," said Liberty County Chamber/CVB CEO Leah Poole.
