Veterans, Scouts observe Memorial Day

Boy and Cub scouts representing Troops/Packs 929 of Glennville and 500 of Hinesville placed flags on graves at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville on Memorial Day.

The Glennville troop routinely visits the cemetery placing flags.

This year, the Glennville group asked the Hinesville troop for assistance.

A report from the Hinesville group said members gladly obliged to honor the soldiers buried at the site.

The boys learned about the fallen soldiers while walking the cemetery and reading the engraved headstones.

The group from Glennville was represented by Cubmaster Brandy Beecher, Webelo Den Leader and Assistant Cubmaster Harvey Beecher, Tenderfoot Scout Leader Daniel Becher, Wolf Cub Scout Memphis Bunch and his family Jonathan, Aaron and Savannah.

Representing Hinesville Troop and Pack 500 were Cubmaster Michael Spurgeon, Aiden Grubbs, Trevor Spurgeon, James overly Jr., Justin Ramos, Madison Crow, Wyatt Vickers, Joey Beal, Justin Jones, Riley Lockhart, Landon Sanchez, David Valdez, Jaden Owens, Noah Rice, Tito Sutton, Chris Sutton, Austin Beal, Collin Lockhart, Riley Templeton, Alex Gilbert, Cordell Jenkins, Matthew Collazo, Anthony Evans, Nehemian Tukes, Maxmilian McCreery and family members Mackenzie Spurgeon, Madison Spurgeon, Christian Beal and Chelsea Sanchez.
