SAVANNAH, GA – On Wednesday, September 2, 2020 the areas around historic Fort Pulaski, including the main parking lot, restrooms, and visitor contact station will be closed to visitors. The delivery of construction materials by crane and heavy machinery, for ongoing preservation projects, necessitate the closure.

Due to these safety concerns, access to Cockspur Island will be limited to the trails away from the fort.

All entrance fees will be waived during this work. Visitors are asked to park in the Picnic area and adhere to all closures.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is located on U.S. Highway 80, 15 miles east of Savannah. For more information, please visit the park website at www.nps.gov/fopu or call (912) 786-5787.
