Benefit: A Bike-A-Thon benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is planned for Saturday in Hinesville.
A bike-a-thon benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is planned for Saturday in Hinesville with a rain date of Oct. 6. The volunteer coordinator for this event is Sgt. Larry Morning.
By participating or attending the event, the community can help raise money for children of the world who are stricken with diseases like cancer, AIDS and Sickle Cell Anemia. Proceeds will help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
Founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization, through events such as Bike-A-Thon.
If you are interested in participating or making a donation, call Morning at 876-7682. For more information on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, visit www.stjude.org.
