According to Chief Public Communications Officer Kevin Larson, Child Development Center No. 1 on Hunter Army Airfield was evacuated for a bomb threat Dec. 16 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Larson said military law enforcement and the Savannah Police Department responded immediately. An inspection was conducted and the building was deemed safe by 2 p.m. 

He said Monday the incident was resolved and no increased threat exists to Hunter Army Airfield or Fort Stewart.
