HABR Meet
Several members of the Hinesville Area Board of Realtors traveled to Point Clear, Ala., to attend the Georgia Association of Realtors 2007 inaugural meeting Feb. 7-10. Janie Diggs and Susan Strickland of Realty Executives Liberty, Brandon Boyce of Islands Real Estate and Sandy Miller, association executive, participated in training and events for GAR members. After business, attendees were free to roam the grounds of the beautifully restored Grand Hotel. After undergoing extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina, a multi-million dollar renovation has restored this Southern jewel to the splendor for which it is known.


Kiss-A-Pig
Kiss-a-Pig, the largest fundraiser of the year for the American Diabetes Association kicks off at 6 p.m. March 8 at Tubby’s in Thunderbolt. The event is free and open to the public. Kiss-a-Pig has been consistently been voted Favorite Charity Event by Savannah Magazine. This year’s campaign will pit Savannah-Chatham County School Superintendent Dr. Thomas Lockamy against Hinesville real estate broker Angela Powell with Exit Team Realty. The Savannah-Chatham County public schools have participated for 15 years and the Hinesville community has participated for 10. All funds raised during the campaign benefit ADA, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to curing diabetes and improving the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
