After nearly a decade on the job, Executive Director Kenny Smiley is leaving his post with the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce.
Smiley's next venture is with a publishing company in North Georgia, a community where he also has personal ties. He said the opportunity presented itself through mutual contacts in the area.
"I will be taking over the publishing of a regional magazine in Northeast Georgia," he said. "The publication will be taking a new direction under my guidance and will focus on regional business, industry, tourism, activities and human interest stories."
Smiley said when he came to the Chamber eight years ago, he set goals for himself to use various resources to continually build the Chamber and to do it in the most ethical way possible.
