The Liberty County Development Authority has said the company putting in a new plant in Tradeport East will formally announce its plans Monday afternoon.
Local officials will not say what company is coming, but have said it will create 200 jobs when in operation.
“We have been sworn to secrecy,” Anna Chafin, marketing director for LCDA, said.
The announcement will be at the site at 4 p.m. Monday.
Tradeport is east of I-95’s Midway exit. And the new plant will be the business park’s third major employer. Target and the Tire Rack have put up distribution centers in recent years.
Site work along the relocated Old Sunbury Road has started and Chafin did confirm one interesting fact: The company has shipped large industrial equipment for the plant on barges to the Half Moon Marina area.
