The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau will celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week through Sunday.

LCCVB has taken bags filled with information about Liberty County’s historical and cultural sites as well as promotional products to the area museums to pass out to visitors this week.

Also, the LCCVB will host a barbecue for owners and employees of Liberty County hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts Thursday.

According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, there was $100.82 million in tourist expenditures, $3.56 million in state tax and $3.10 million in local tax spent in Liberty County in 2013.
