Two workshops on starting businesses

Two workshops entitled "Thinking of Starting a Business" will be offered in January.
They will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. Jan. 10 and 24 in the Conference Room of the Small Business Assistance Center, 111 East Liberty St. in Savannah. The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and the Service Corps of Retired Executives sponsor these events. If you are thinking of starting a small business, then taking one of these workshops is a crucial first step.
Each workshop will cover the basics of business startup including the traits of successful entrepreneurs, market research, legal structures for business, estimating start-up costs and cash flow projections, financing alternatives, failure factors, and business planning.
Attending one of these workshops may be one of the most important decisions you make prior to opening your business. A detailed workbook and other resource materials will be provided.
The cost of this seminar is $50 per person if you pre-register and pre-pay before the day of class. Registration is $60 the day of the class or at the door. Discounts are available for business partners or spouses.
