Celebrating 30 years of service
Flemington council

It isn’t often Flemington Mayor Paul Hawkins’ wife Linda shows up for a city council meeting, but she did last month when Mayor Hawkins was surprised as he was honored for 30 years of service on the Flemington City Council, including the last six as mayor.

Hawkins was a council member for 24 years, 16 of those as mayor pro tem.

He was greeted with video tributes from other Liberty County dignitaries, his family and from U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter.

In the above photo, Hawkins shows off the certificate thanking him for 30 years along with current council members Larry Logan, Rene Harwell, David Edwards, Gail Evans and Leigh Smiley.
