The Hinesville Area Board of Realtors presented the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce with a check for $3,500 to help with its campaign to promote the Transportation Special Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, and with a check for $3,500 to the Chamber for its efforts to campaign for the passage of the Floating Local Option Sales Tax, or FLOST.

The TSPLOST, if passed, would levy an additional penny tax on sales and the proceeds go toward such projects as roads, streets and drainage or other efforts to improve transportation. FLOST, if passed, would provide property tax relief. Entities that levy a millage rate would have to cut the millage rate assessed to property owners to equal an amount of money that the FLOST raises.

Both measures will be on the ballot across the county November
