Hinesville City Council members recognized two Hinesville police officers for their actions in separate incidents from last August.

Corporal Jess Lamberth was recognized for his actions, response and conduct during an August 8, 2024, incident. Lamberth saw a vehicle being driven recklessly on West Oglethorpe Highway, posing imminent danger to the public. Lamberth tried to make a traffic stop, and that led to a pursuit.

Eventually, the driver voluntarily stopped his vehicle, and it was learned he was having suicidal thoughts. The driver was contemplating actions that could have harmed himself and others.

Officer Michael Adam was cited for his work during an August 31, 2024, incident. Adam, along with other officers from the HPD’s B watch, the Liberty County Sheriff ’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol, responded to a call involving an armed and intoxicated subject threatening residents near Elm Street and Demere Street.

Using crisis negotiation skills, Adam persuaded the subject to surrender peacefully.
