Class of 2026 will toss caps this weekend

Graduation ceremonies at Liberty County’s two public schools begin Friday night, with Bradwell Institute’s commencement exercises at Olvey Field/ Hokey Jackson Stadium.

Liberty County High School will conduct its graduation Saturday at 7 p.m. at Donell Woods Stadium/Kirk Warner Field.

Bradwell’s valedictorian is Gia Williams and the salutatorian is Lisette Crawford. Xaimary Nicole Torres Ortiz is the Liberty County High class of 2026 valedictorian and Daizey Keller is the salutatorian.

Gates each night will open at 5 p.m. and the General Stewart Way gate at Olvey Field will close at 6:50 p.m. Friday and will not reopen until all graduates are on the field.

The graduation ceremonies at each school will be livestreamed on the school system’s website, liberty.k12.ga.us. The live streams will be available at 6:30 p.m. each night.

The concession stands will be open with sales of water only during the ceremonies. The school system asks that attendees not bring in any other food or beverages.

For Liberty County High’s graduation ceremony, vehicles will be prohibited from parking along Highway 84 one mile east and one mile west of the stadium. Caution barrels will be placed alongside Highway 84 to assist with preventing parking on the side of Highway 84.

A free shuttle will provide transportation from Snelson-Golden Middle and Midway Middle. The first shuttle will depart at 5:15 p.m. and the last shuttle will leave from SGMS and MMS at 5:45 p.m. Parking at Liberty County High School will be limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

First Preparatory Christian Academy’s graduation was held Saturday, May 16.
