At the Liberty County Commission Tuesday,  Chairman John McIver opened the meeting by signing a proclamation to declare Sept. 17 national POW/MIA Day. He thanked a veteran who read aloud parts of the proclamation.
It was one of a few routine business items that commissioners tackled.
