About a half-dozen people attended Tuesday’s public hearing to review and discuss the proposed budget for Liberty County, which county finance manager Kim McGlothlin presented to commissioners and the public.
Preliminary departmental requests for next year’s budget came in at around $26.2 million, McGlothlin said, but after cutting capital requests by nearly $246,000, cutting new personnel requests by almost $305,00 and cutting requests for general operations and supplies by nearly $900,000, the proposed budget came to $24,810,000.
