Depression falls apart overnight
Placeholder Image
Tropical depression 2 degenerated overnight to the point that the National Weather Service has quit sending out bulletins on it.

The system was about 900 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands and was still moving west about 8 mph, but had decayed into a remnant low pressure area with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.

The service's last alert said it was still monitoring the system, but did not expect it to change for several days.
