The Liberty County Chamber Foundation (LCCF) was pleased to present each school with a $2,000 check on Monday, May 19 on behalf of Howmet Aerospace and their generosity to the Chamber Foundation, Liberty County Literacy Project.
Schools will use $1,000 to stock their book vending machines in the coming school year, allowing students to “purchase” books using special tokens earned through positive behavior, academic achievements and other incentives. School librarians will be given the other $1,000 to assist students in need to attend school book fairs and make purchases, ensuring students have greater access to books and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
