LUDOWICI -- Students at Smiley Elementary participated in the annual CRCT Kickoff on April 21.
Students in first through third grade were entertained by students of Strike Force karate academy. Davis Teston, Ashley Middleton and Gene Middleton performed for the students. Their instructor, Jason Branch, spoke with students about doing their best on the standardized tests.
Entertainment was also provided by Gloria Gainer (Debby Davis) and the Solid Gold Dancers (Gladwin Harper, Ginger Surrency, Lara Hamilton, and Brenda Whitley). They performed the 1970s classic "I will Survive."
Afterward, students who exceeded standards on last year's CRCT were recognized. Student also received a pack of Smartees as encouragement to do their best on the tests.
