Several Button Gwinnett Elementary School students participated in an essay contest for third- through fifth-graders. They wrote on the topic “How can fundraiser money be used to help students and teachers at Button Gwinnett?”
One winner was chosen from each grade level. Winners were third-grader Alena Kirby-Dick, fourth-grader Angel Owens and fifth-grader Taleiyah Goodwin. Fourth-grader Raemoni Bennet received an honorable-mention certificate.
Assistant Principal Delores Crawford and Principal Dr. James Johnson said the contest supported good writing and recognized students who strive to showcase their talents. At Button Gwinnett, students are encouraged to write for fun, information and research.
