Darin Edgecomb, a seventh grade language arts teacher at Lewis Frasier Middle School was named district teacher of the year Thursday during the 2018 Teacher of the Year dinner at Bradwell Institute.
"I am still pinching myself to see if this moment is real," Edgecomb said. "I’m not in this profession for awards or accolades, so to receive an honor of this caliber is really humbling. I am so thankful to the Liberty County School System for selecting me as the Teacher of the Year."
The top teacher at each of the county’s schools were honored at the dinner.
Dr. Valya S. Lee, Liberty County superintendent of schools, said, "These teachers are agents of change in Liberty County Schools. They believe in their students and in turn their students believe in themselves. We are very proud of each and every one of them."
