Graduating seniors from Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School are eligible to apply for $1,000 scholarships from the Liberty County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance Association.
The nonprofit, public service organization, each year, awards several scholarships in honor of King, a social activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner.
Scholarship applications will be available in February and may be picked up at the counselor office at each school, participating churches or from members of the MLK Committee.
Winners will be screened by a committee, and the awards are presented during the schools' awards night.
The association receives its funds from local churches, businesses, private donors, and proceeds from its annual golf tournament. For more information, call (912) 876-5226.
