Village Children’s Learning Center teacher Latoya Green was honored at a Hinesville City Council meeting on March 4

She had received $1,200 through the First-time Incentive to Raise Standards for Teachers (FIRST) award. The incentive program is for early care and education professionals who earn their credentials between Sept. 1, 2009 and Feb. 28, 2011. Green graduated from Altamaha Technical College in Jesup on Jan. 28.
