State School Superintendent Richard Woods visited students and administrators at Long County High School on Oct. 23.
He spoke with students from the school’s journalism class and with members of the Long County Board of Education.
Woods said he was visiting schools around the state to help improve outcomes and expand options for each of them. He said the way to make this happen was by having good communication, meaningful collaboration and implementing policies that focus on the students and the classrooms.
The primary reason for his visit to LCHS, he said, was to find out what was working at the school and to see what type of assistance the school needed.
Attending the visit were Principal David Edwards, Superintendent Dr. Robert Waters, board member Julie Dawson and board Chairwoman Janet Watford.
