Student leaders find inspiration aboard aircraft carrier USS Yorktown
YLCCarrier
Charleston Harbor, S.C. - A spectacular roster of American patriots headlined the 2008 Youth Leadership Conference held on board the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown at Patriots Point. Rising junior and senior high school students from throughout the southeastern United States attended this challenging four-day conference, June 25-27.
Joshua Kent Parker of Riceboro and Spencer Fletcher of Fort Jackson attended. Both are students at Liberty County High School.
The 71 students in this year's class were the recipients of YLC scholarships from the conference organizer, the Military Order of the World Wars. MOWW is a veterans group dedicated to enhancing education opportunities for teenagers. In addition to contributions from business and civic leaders, this year's YLC class heard from a truly inspirational group of military leaders.
