Coastal Electric Cooperative Director Holly Fields recently earned her Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate. Board President Jack Waters and CEO Chris Fettes recognized her achievement during the cooperative’s monthly board meeting Oct. 28.
The first part of a national director education program, the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) program consists of five courses that focus on governance knowledge and essential skills required of cooperative directors. The CCD helps directors fulfill their fiduciary duty as elected officials serving on behalf of their co-op membership.
Courses required to earn a CCD Certificate include:
Director Duties and Liabilities
Understanding the Electric Business
Board Operations and Process
Strategic Planning
Financial Decision-Making
Once the CCD is completed, participating directors can then pursue the Board Leadership Certificate and the Director Gold Credential.
