One hundred nineteen fallen firefighters were honored at National Memorial held in Maryland Oct. 6.

The 38th National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service honored 92 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2018 and 27 firefighters who died in the line of duty in previous years. Among those honored Hinesville Fire Department Captain Earnest “Moe” McDuffie, who died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 while performing fire department mandated physical fitness training. Hinesville Fire Department Public Information Officer Captain Robert Kitchings said he and others took the time to attend. Here we see Jerry Heath taking a moment to collect McDuffie’s name on paper for prosperity while paying respect to other fallen firefighters.
