Flemington fire
Hinesville firefighters work to put out a fire at a Flemington fire Wednesday.

A Flemington home sustained damage Wednesday night when fire spread throughout the single family home on the 200 block of Tremaine Drive.

The home belonged to Flemington City Council member Rene Harwell.

Hinesville Fire Chief Robert Kitchings said the home sustained significant damage to the kitchen where the fire is believed to have started and the adjoining garage and living room.

When firefighters from Hinesville stations 11 and 22 arrived around 9 p.m., they encountered heavy flames and smoke and brought the fire under control within minutes of their arrival.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
