Fort Stewart railroad tracks in Hinesville damaged after vehicle accident

An accident shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday led to damage on the Fort Stewart railroad tracks.

A woman traveling on Glenn Bryant Road on Wednesday evening allegedly suffered a medical condition, and ran off the road, damaging railroad tracks belong to the federal government.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Christopher Ashdown, who arrived on scene along with Hinesville Police Department patrol units, said the woman was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center to be treated. Ashdown said the railroad tracks, which are part of the military railway infrastructure, was damaged.

Accident investigators from Fort Stewart will handle the investigation due to the property belonging to the installation
