Fred L Ginter, American Legion Post 168 hosts Memorial Day celebration
MD 1

Veterans, friends, and residents of Liberty County gathered Monday morning, May 31, to honor military personnel that died in the line of duty and commemorate Memorial Day. The event was held at the Fred L. Ginter, American Legion Post 168.

The event was hosted by Sergeant Major Chad Chaffee (USA) (Ret), and featured Command Sergeant Major Quentin V. Fenderson representing Major General Tony Augto and the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division, who provided a brief insight as to what Memorial Day stands for. In attendance was a Gold Star Spouse, numerous Veterans from the Korean War, Vietnam Conflict and several from the Conflicts in Iran, Afghanistan, and other areas where American Service Members have fought and died. The ceremony lasted 45 minutes and offered the opportunity to reflect about the freedoms all Americans are afforded.
