Girls on the Run Coastal Georgia and Lowcountry is preparing for Camp GOTR: Girls Have Heart. The event will be held at Armed Services YMCA in Hinesville, Lyman Hall Elementary in Hinesville, May Howard School in Savannah and The Landings in Savannah. The camp will be held June 24-28 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Registration began in March and is set to close on June 23. Registration for Armed Services YMCA camp is available at www.ymcaofcoastalga.org

Registration is available for all other camps online at www.gotrcoastalgeorgialowcountry.org

The camp will allow the girls to have fun exploring new friendships through activities designed to teach them what makes a good friend and how to be a good friend to others. The activities and games will have the girls building, creating, writing, discussing, connecting and laughing with other participants. The games and activities are to help build the girls confidence and teach them how to appreciate their teammates.

Camp GOTR: Girls Have Heart is sponsored by Sylvan Learning, strategic partner of Girls on Run, with support from CPPI of Georgia, Palmetto Financial, Peach State Health Plan and Step One Auto.

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that teaches key life skills to girls in 3rd through 8th grade through dynamic discussions and fun games that creatively integrate running.  Girls on the Run is for elementary school girls and Heart & Sole is designed for middle school girls.

The cost of the camp varies based on location and includes five lessons conducted by certified GOTR coaches, a camp bracelet, camp journals, camp certificates, snacks and a Camp GOTR T-shirt.

Girls on the Run has served more than 1.2 million girls since its inception in 1996.
