Suspected intruder killed

According to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Major Bill Kirkendall, a burglary turned fatal Nov. 6, when Donnell Alexander, 39 allegedly attempted to enter a home in Victory Manor Mobile Home Park in Hinesville. 

Kirkendall said the homeowner shot and killed Alexander as he allegedly tried to gain entry.

 The incident happened just after 9 p.m. Officers arrived to find Alexander’s body in the roadway by the home he attempted to enter. 

The investigation is ongoing.
