LCPC chairman running for mayor

Jim Thomas
Jim Thomas, 30-year Liberty County resident, announces his candidacy for the mayor of Hinesville.
Thomas, a retired military officer, most recently retired from civil service at Fort Stewart, and is currently employed in the private sector.
He has been active in the community and has served both the city of Hinesville and Liberty County for the past 20 years.
He is currently serving as chairman of the Liberty County Planning Commission, is a member of the Liberty County Hospital Authority, the Hinesville Metropolitan Planning Commission, the Hinesville Architectural Review Board, and several other civic organizations.
As a civil service employee, he served as a liaison between Fort Stewart, Liberty County and the city of Hinesville. He also served on the Joint-Use Airport Committee from its inception, and worked with the Military Affairs Committee.
“I have seen and been a part of the tremendous growth that has occurred in Hinesville. This city has a rich history and a great future. I would like to see the growth continued in a positive and sustainable manner, the history preserved, and the future to remain bright and prosperous. I believe in service to the nation and to our community; and would be honored to serve as Mayor of the City of Hinesville.”
Jim is married to Claudia L. Thomas and has four children and nine grandchildren.
