Quincy Melvin of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was promoted to the rank of major in a ceremony held last week outside the Liberty County Jail.  

Melvin a former Georgia State Patrol trooper, joined the sheriff’s office in March 2021.  

Melvin will head the Bureau of Police Operations and will be responsible for the operations of the agency’s uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, K-9, sexual offender coordinator, and traffic divisions.
