Let’s all celebrate this beautiful planet we live on
klb event

It turned out to be a beautiful day this past Saturday for our county-wide Great American Cleanup 2021.  It was raining all night and at 6:30am it stopped, and the sun came out!  I was so happy and thanked the Lord!  Thank you to all the volunteers that came out and did your part to Keep Liberty Beautiful!

April 22 is International Earth Day.  Keep Liberty Beautiful, and Liberty County has another community event this Friday.   Liberty County will celebrate the Earth for International Earth Day on April 23, 2021.  We cannot wait for the community to join us to learn and have fun all centered around our Earth!  It will take place at Bryant Commons, and the event is from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, and it will be a Drive-Thru event this year.

Earth Day is a global movement that has involves more than 1 billion people every year to act and make joint changes to care for our environment.  The theme for this year is “Restore Our Earth,” focusing on using innovative methods and technology to help restore our planet’s ecosystems.  Looking online I found a lot of information on ways we can restore the Earth.  We can plant flowers and trees to compliment landscapes.  We can provide habitat and food for native species and support endangered wildlife. Conserving water, and recycling.  When you have time look up ways you can make one change to restore our Earth.

Earth Day.org is an excellent resource to help people learn about our environment and celebrate the Earth.  EarthDay.org has an Earth Day Action Toolkit full of activity ideas to help make a difference on Earth Day and every day.  It also talks about the effects of climate change and how it may be the single biggest challenge that faces our planet today.  Climate change impacts many aspects of the daily lives of all living beings, including food and water availability, pollution, weather, and natural disasters.

So, come learn about the Earth because Earth Day is for our community and by our community. There are over 30 booths hosted by organizations, businesses, agencies, and churches, that partner with Keep Liberty Beautiful.  So plan now to join us this Friday for the upcoming Annual Earth Day Celebration.   Our celebration happens at Bryant Commons, 438 W. Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Friday, April 23, 2021.  For more information, contact KLB at (912) 880-4888 or email at klcb@libertycountyga.com.  See you there!
