Liberty Regional Medical Center and the Liberty County School System have partnered to provide artwork to be displayed on its Young Artists Wall located in one of its main corridors of the hospital.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, students from Liberty Elementary School, under the direction of their art teacher, Ms. Melissa Wisniewski, poured their hearts into creating beautiful artwork to display in honor of this important month of recognition. Ms. Wisniewski said she was very moved by the student’s personal connections to this art project. “I really enjoyed working on this meaningful project with the students. Many of the students told me about their experience with someone they know that has battled with breast cancer and how special this project was to them, “ Ms. Wisniewski stated.
Although October is celebrated nationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Liberty Regional recognizes and promotes breast care and diagnostics all year long for the detection of and treatment for this dreaded disease. The hospital offers 3D Mammography as part of its wide array of imaging services. 3D Mammography is proven to provide better and earlier breast cancer detection. This technology finds on average 20% - 65% more invasive cancers than conventional mammography alone. It also reduces the unnecessary callbacks by up to 40%.
Liberty Regional also offers expert surgical care for those who are in need through the surgeons of its practice, Liberty Surgical Associates. Whether a lumpectomy, a mastectomy or some other form of surgical procedure is needed, patients may receive the care they need right here in their own community.
In addition, if further treatment is needed, Liberty Regional, in partnership with the Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion in Savannah, provides exceptional cancer care locally in Hinesville. The Oncology Center and the office of Dr. Ajaz Bulbul is located in the Medical Office Building on the campus of the hospital. This cancer center improves access to medical oncology, critical infusion treatments, expert cancer specialists and state-of–the-art clinical trials.
