JEKYLL ISLAND — Carl R. Varnedoe of Jones Osteen and Jones in Hinesville was re-elected to the board of governors of the 49,000-member State Bar of Georgia and was installed June 10 during the organization’s annual meeting.

Varnedoe will continue to serve in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit, Post 2 seat on the board. He earned his law degree from the Walter F. George Law School at Mercer University and was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2003. His law practice is focused on personal injury and wrongful death law, premises and property liability and eminent domain law.

The board of governors is the 160-member policymaking authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board meets at least four times per year.
