Diamond Club raises money for Long baseball

On Saturday the Long County Diamond Club Golf Tournament was held at Cherokee Golf Club.

The event is held annually to help raise funds to support the Long County High School (LCHS) baseball team. This year the tournament raised $2,200 dollars for the Blue Tide players.
Two teams ended the day with a low score of minus 13, so it came down to a tiebreaker hole to determine who took home first place.

The team of Matt Marchand, Dave Marchand, Matt Henderson, and Tim Blanton took home the top prize. The second place team was Kevin Lewis, Carl Freeman, Shawn Peek, and Tracy Howard.
Rounding out the top three wasthe team of Brandon Gordon, Robbie Skipper, Nick Wells and Jordan Robertson who, combined to shoot a respectable score of minus 12 to place third.

The hole sponsors for the fundraising tournament were the Law Office of Hugh McCullough, Sanitary Plumbing, Long County Clerk of Court Sherry Long, Clifton and Linda DeLoach, Interstate Credit Union, the LCHS Class of 1982, Altamaha Federal Credit Union, The Heritage Bank, Taylors Creek Construction, Pope Construction Company, Gaskin Tree Service, South Coast Enterprises, Provident Construction, SecurusSelect, Long County Coroner Robert Parker, Bobby Smith, Dunham Enterprises, CrossFit Hinesville, David Smiley Rentals, Canoochee EMC, Daniel Brick, Optim Orthopedic, the Long County Board of Education, Long Auto Parts, Brunswick Coca Cola, Robert Waters, Interstate Paper, Pops Pizza, Howard Funeral Home, Coastal Cooling, Ludowici Drugs, Dustin McGowan and a sponsorship in memory of Charlie Theus.
