Avoid South Main Street in downtown Hinesville for the next week if you can.
Matthew Barrow, an engineer with P.C. Simonton and Associates, reports that a drainage project will restrict southbound traffic to one lane between Bagley Avenue (Liberty County Justice Center) and East Hendry Street (The Coastal Bank). The work will block left and right turn lanes from Wednesday through Sept. 28.
"Through traffic will be permitted while utility work takes place, however, motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes if possible to reduce congestion in the area during the lane closure," Barrow wrote in a release.
