Kick back, take in a flick and enjoy some snacks. Georgia Theatre Company is planning its ninth annual “Film and Food for a Cause” event Sunday, Sept. 23. For a $12 donation, customers receive a movie ticket, concession combo that includes popcorn and a small soda, and a packet of restaurant coupons.
All of the proceeds benefit the United Way of the Coastal Empire and the American Red Cross of the Coastal Empire.
Advance tickets are on sale until Thursday by calling the United Way of the Coastal Empire at 368-4282 or at Liberty Stadium Cinemas, 565 W. Oglethorpe Highway, from Friday until Sept. 22.  
Even in tough economic times, this event is past years has raised around $100,000.
