NAACP teach-in focuses on justice
NAACP

The Liberty County Branch of the NAACP will host a Justice Education Teach-in from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center.

“At this time in our nation, the search for the answer on how we move towards a more just society is vitally important,” Branch President Graylan Quarterman said. “That search must include sincere dialogue, honest deliberation and determined action on issues of gun violence, policing and relations. The Liberty County NAACP is a committed stakeholder in achieving this goal.”

There will be a panel to discuss what this community, civil rights, fraternal, Masonic and religious organizations can do to address gun violence in our communities, specifically in Liberty County. Tentative plans include a roundtable discussion with county and city leaders, managers and faith leaders from 3:30 to 4:30, followed by a public presentation from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
