Right Blend Blog: Parade ready to roll

Santa is on his way folks.

The 21st annual Christmas Parade is this coming Friday. We at the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau worked pretty much all year to deliver an event that will leave your kiddos watching in wonder! How can you ensure this is the best experience, though? Never fear, we’ve got that handled for you, too!
1. Picking your spot! Before you take this step, decide what’s most important to you? Getting to see all the parade entrants perform or do you want a spot you can easily hitch up and go if need be? If you’re looking for a good show, head to downtown Hinesville and set up near the filming area. Here the entrants will show off their skills or put on a show to be streamed live. If you’re wanting to beat the crowd and be the first car out the gate, find a location along Gen. Screven with multiple exits. Near Arby’s is a good shot! Plan to arrive early if you want to sit up close, these spots go fast! Please remember, too, to keep the kiddos on the curb. While everyone will be driving slowly, we’d hate for someone to get hurt!
2. Pack the essentials! The weather is bound to be chilly on Friday night, plan accordingly! In addition to packing a few lawn chairs, bring some blankets to cover your legs while your watch. Make sure to charge your phone so you can snap a few photos of the kids when they see the lights and floats! Throw on your gloves and hats, too!
3. Don’t forget the munchies! The parade starts at 6 p.m. so you’ll be watching through dinner time. Stop by Island Café or Zum Rosenhof and pick up a quick meal if you’re heading downtown to watch. If you’re planning to hang out along the outer edge of the route, hit up Baldinos! Pack a Thermos full of hot chocolate to sip on during the parade to keep warm.
4. Enjoy! Sit back and enjoy the parade. With tons of entrants from our local community the parade will be fun in more ways than one. See if you can spot your friends and check out the new businesses or clubs you might not have known about. Have fun singing Christmas carols while they parade flows by.
The parade is one of our favorite events all year and we hope it one of your favorites too! Have some festive fun spending time with your family and friends as the illuminated floats go by. You’ll see fire trucks, bands and Santa of course!

Continue enjoying the festive fun at 11th Annual Christmas in the Park on Saturday in downtown Hinesville. Take the family out to make Christmas crafts & ornaments, shop vendors with locally made items and take everyone for a photo with Santa!
