A truck clipped the front end of a Liberty County School bus this morning on Islands highway and Brigdon Road.

According to Jason Rogers the Liberty County School System Director of Maintenance and Operations, the bus was transporting about 14 children. There were no injuries reported.

The bus was attempting to make a left hand turn from Islands Highway to Brigdon Road, Rogers said. There were cars behind the bus truck that were stopped.

Rogers said that for some reason the driver of the truck, possibly a Ford F-150 pickup, chose to go around the line of vehicles and attempted to pass the cars and the bus as the bus was in the process of turning. The truck impacted the bus in the area of the left front tire

Rogers said EMTs were on the scene and cleared the children and driver. All students were taken to the classes.

The Courier is waiting for a response from the Georgia State Patrol Office.
