According to Long/Ludowici Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Captain Nick Maxwell the fire began shortly after 3 p.m. Maxwell said when firefighters arrived heavy black smoke and flames were pouring from the single family dwelling structure. Maxwell said the home is a total loss.
Agencies from Liberty County Fire Services, the Department of Corrections, Hinesvuille fire Department and the Walthourville Fire Department assisted in fighting the fire.
No injuries were reported however, two adults and three 3 children have been displaced.
