A Long County man was killed in a wreck Tuesday afternoon in Walthourville, according to the Georgia State Patrol. 

The driver of a Toyota Scion, identified as Robert Lee Jones, was attempting to make a left turn onto Arnall Drive from Talmadge Road when he was struck from behind by a pickup, spinning Jones' car which was then struck by a tractor-trailer carrying logs, GSP Trooper Harry Middleton said.

Jones sustained trauma in the collision and was taken by ambulance to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, where he was later pronounced dead, Middleton said.

The wreck occurred shortly before 5 p.m.
