LUDOWICI — Long County Development Authority Chairman Terry Gordon died Saturday at his residence.
The cause of death has not been reported
Gordon, 59, who was born in Liberty County, had lived in Long County for 15 years.  He was the current chairman on the LCDA and was instrumental in bringing in the industrial site’s first business, McGowan Roofing and Supply, last year.  He also has been a key member in the current plans to bring Jones Creek Machinery to the site in 2009.
Last month, with his family’s aid, Gordon helped bring a free Christmas dinner to anyone who was hungry in the county.
He was a member of the Ludowici Church of God, and served as its minister of music.  He also was a former director and current member of the Long County Chamber of Commerce and the chief registrar for Long County.
Gordon was recognized as a singer, and was known throughout the area for perform-
ing “God Bless America.”
He is survived by his wife, Colette, daughter, Tara Allen, and sons Justin and Brandon. He also is survived by three sisters, one brother and four grandchildren.
