Belinda Smiley McLendon’s recent request to the Ludowici City Council to rename Main Street for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was taken to heart. An unveiling for the street’s new street signs was on July 7. The Rev. James Evans of St. James Missionary Baptist Church led guests in prayer. Ludowici Mayor Jim Fuller gave a welcome and Long County Commission Chairman David Richardson offered a greeting. Tributes were made by Ludowici Mayor-Pro-tem Mary Hamilton and Tiffany Green. State Rep. Al Williams was the keynote speaker.
